Wanted: 6-12 Vegan Adventurers!
On March 1, 2018, a daring group of dedicated vegans plan to summit Mt. Kilimanjaro on the first all-vegan trek to Africa’s highest peak!
Besides fulfilling personal goals, these intrepid adventurers will demonstrate to the world the heights of achievement possible on a healthy, life-enhancing, plant-based diet.
The capstone of the trek will be the unfurling of a banner at the foot of the famous Uhuru Peak summit sign promoting the life-saving mission of PCRM’s Barnard Medical Center www.pcrm.org/barnard-medical-center.
The trek idea originated with San Diegan Mike Weinberg who wanted to challenge himself in his 65th year (21 as a vegan).
Concerned with cross-contamination and uncomfortable dining around others eating animal products, he arranged with a very reputable guide company, www.ultimatekilimanjaro.com, to provide a 100% vegan mess tent with all new eating utensils and cooking gear along with segregated food storage.
So far, with 5 participants from 3 states (California, Texas, Florida), they’ve locked in the climb dates (Feb 25 – Mar 2, 2018) and are seeking up to 7 more adventurers from around the world.
If you are interested in joining the climb team, please email firstname.lastname@example.org for costs and logistics.
