Starbucks Goes Vegan on National Coffee Day! (We Wish)

National Coffee Day and the team at Compassion Over Killing (COK) has big plans to launch an exciting campaign to encourage Starbucks to add more vegan options to their menu.

With the help of journalist and animal advocate Jane Velez-Mitchell, COK will launch a new “Starbucks Cup Challenge” campaign.

Starbucks has rolled out a protein-packed vegan lentil bowl in select cities. Now, in celebration of National Coffee Day, journalist Jane Velez-Mitchell is kicking off her brand-new Starbucks Cup Challenge to turn up the heat for vegan food at Starbucks nationwide.

In the new video, Jane teams up with COK to show viewers a quick & easy way to get plant-based food on the menu:

-Just visit your local Starbucks, write “Vegan food, please” on your cup, snap a selfie, and post it to social media!

Don’t forget the #VeganStarbucks hashtag–and most importantly, tag friends and family you want to join you in taking the #StarbucksCupChallenge this fall!

As the nation’s largest coffee chain, Starbucks has the potential to serve compassionate plant-based meals to millions of consumers, but the company needs feedback from its customers first.

Everyone who participates in Jane’s challenge is brewing up support for vegan foods at Starbucks nationwide.

So you know where you’ll find us Friday morning: with a freshly brewed and freshly marked cup!
